Arley Homes gets ‘onside’ with Winwick Athletic FC

Warrington-based Arley Homes has announced a super-local sponsorship arrangement with a very special football team. Arley has agreed to sponsor Winwick Athletic FC’s Under 7s which trains and plays on Myddleton Lane Playing Fields, in the shadow of Arley’s headquarters on Rectory Lane.

A leading regional housebuilder with developments across Lancashire, Manchester and Cheshire, Arley is always keen to support good causes closer to home. In committing sponsorship to the young sports stars, Arley is helping to provide these budding Beckhams with a new winter strip.

Winwick Athletic FC was formed in 1976 to provide sports coaching for local children. Originally known as the Culcheth Terriers, the club has grown significantly in recent years, becoming an FA Standard Charter Development Club in 2006.

Ivan Hudson, the Team Manager at Winwick Athletic FC, said: “It is so important for sporting organisations like ours to exist in the local community for children and families that need them. This football club wouldn’t have lasted, let alone grown to more than 330 members, without the generosity and support of the local community. We are delighted to welcome Arley Homes as a sponsor and the children are thrilled with their new strip; hopefully it will bring good luck this season!”

John Cosgrave, Arley Homes managing director, added: “For more than 35 years parents, coaches and local organisations have rallied together to provide what is a fantastic facility for local children and their families. Thanks to the enthusiasm, hard work and dedication of these people, children across Winwick have somewhere where they can learn a sport, see friends and learn the value of teamwork. We are thrilled to be able to play our part in supporting the club and greatly look forward to cheering on the Under7s from the sidelines!”
