North Manchester reigns supreme in North v South ‘divide’

November 2007

As the property market continues to harden and interest rates bite, a clear North-South divide is appearing in the Manchester market, according to local developer Geldart Properties. The North is currently offering the best value for money and a better long-term return on investment for both investors and residents, as bricks and mortar continue to rival traditional savings and investment routes.

Geldart points to its own Orchard Court development in Bury as a clear case in point. Situated off Manchester Road, a key commuter route to both Bury and Manchester, Orchard Court enjoys an excellent location, and is built with a stylish and elegant specification to rival many City Centre properties.

The one and two bedroom apartments are fitted with integrated appliances including fridge/freezer, cooker, hob, extractor fan and dishwasher.

Set within private, tree-lined grounds the apartments provide a pleasant and secure environment, and offer residents an outstanding lifestyle with minimum maintenance.

Sales and marketing director Alison Holton explained: “The rise in the interest rate has marked an increase in our sales rather than a drop in activity at Orchard Court and there are now just four two bedroom apartments and four penthouses still available.

“We are getting visitors who were looking at more expensive City Centre developments, but who have been forced to reconsider due to the increase in interest rates. They still want a home that is elegant and stylish but they want to make sure that they get every penny of their money’s worth in terms of design and space. Bury is a clearly a viable alternative to City Centre living, and its excellent communications give residents the best of both worlds.”

There were originally 48 one and two bedroom apartments and penthouses available at Orchard Court. So, with just four two-bedroom apartments and four penthouses remaining and a starting price of only £142,000 for apartments and £249,950 for penthouses, would-be purchasers are advised to formally register their interest without delay.

Orchard Court’s sales office and show apartment is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For further information please call sales advisor Julie Cooper sales advisor on 0161 763 4629.
