No compromise for first buyers at Churchfields

September 2009

They say a good relationship is all about compromise but neither Dave Taylor nor his fiancée Gail Skinner was prepared to settle for second best when it came to their dream home. And the couple, the first to move into one of the gorgeous new properties at Arley Homes’ stunning Churchfields development in Harwood, near Bolton, didn’t have to.

Salesman Dave was looking for a stone-built cottage in the Lancashire countryside while Gail hoped to set up home in a new build property with good access to work in nearby Bolton. With the spacious four bedroom semi-detached Bramhall design, one of just 18 properties on the bespoke Churchfields development, the pair say they have got the best of both worlds, and more to boot.

Dave, 33, said they had been searching for a new home for some time when the pretty stone properties and beautifully landscaped gardens at Churchfields really caught his eye. He said: “We thought we might have to move out of the area because we couldn’t find anything which we both liked. As I’m from Harwood we really wanted to stay in the town so it was fantastic when we discovered Churchfields.

“The location is perfect, overlooking fields out towards Ainsworth, while being only 10 minutes from Bolton. I love old properties so I would never usually have considered new build but Churchfields really looks like a traditional Lancashire house from the outside with a spacious, contemporary interior.”

Once they viewed the Churchfields show home, Dave and Gail were keen to make the move but feared they might be unable to sell their current house and secure a new mortgage due to the recent market downturn and the reduction in bank lending. But, after meeting with Arley Homes, they were offered a part exchange deal which enabled them to make the purchase.

Gail, 24, said: “I didn’t know much about part exchange before we met the Arley sales team but it turned out to be the perfect solution for us, especially considering the current market. It took away the hassle and the stress and allowed us to really look forward to moving into our new home.

“The property itself is beautiful, I love the open plan kitchen, the garden and the spacious bedrooms. I want us to stay here for years, this is our forever home.”

The semi-rural development is located on Stitch-Mi-Lane, just minutes from the A56 and within easy reach of Bolton and Bury town centres. It is also perfectly situated for a commute to Manchester City Centre either by train or via the M61 motorway

Churchfields features five individually designed house types, each offering contemporary interiors and spacious living over three floors. Ideal for family life, all homes have four bedrooms and a mixture of ground floor layouts offering the option of an open-plan kitchen/ dining room or spacious lounge/ diner.

Arley Homes offers a range of incentives and packages at Churchfields including assisted sale and part exchange. Selected plots at Churchfields are also eligible for a mortgage offer of up to 100 per cent, subject to terms and conditions.

Prices start from £199,950. For more information about Churchfields contact sales advisor Helen Britton on 01204 532 558 or for other Arley Homes’ properties, go to www.arleyhomes.co.uk or call 01925 651155.
