North West housebuilder achieved planning permission for Chorley site
Arley Homes has secured planning permission for 40 family homes in Coppull, Chorley. The developer, which acquired the 2.7 acre site in September, has now started work on site and plans to launch the show home by spring next year.
The development will be named The Meadows and feature a mixture of three- and four-bedroom detached homes and two-bedroom mews cottages. Arley will build a range of 11 house types offering buyers the choice of contemporary open-plan or more traditional living spaces, and different off-road parking options including integral and separate garages.
John Cosgrave, managing director of Arley Homes, was delighted with the outcome of the planning meeting. He said: This brownfield site is in a great countryside location and presented the perfect opportunity for development. We felt it was the ideal spot for families and drew up plans to provide a fantastic choice of beautiful homes for both local people and newcomers to the area.
I was delighted that the planning authority agreed with our proposals and gave permission for us to start work on this exciting new development. I am already looking forward to the launch of The Meadows early next year which I believe will prove very popular with potential purchasers.
Arley has continued to acquire new sites and proceed with development throughout the recent economic difficulties because we have maintained strong sales across our current portfolio of homes. Arley is still in the market for new opportunities and we are in discussions with a number of land owners across the region with a view to acquiring more.
The semi-rural location of The Meadows offers good access to both the M6 and M61 motorways. The shops and restaurants of Chorley town centre are just 10 minutes away. Buyers will also have all the benefits of the stunning Lancashire countryside on their doorstep.
This is the second new site acquired by the Warrington-based developer this year. In March, Arley purchased a one-acre site at Gloucester Street in Atherton from Wigan Borough Council and launched the Chanters Green show home in September.
Arley Homes is currently marketing properties at Churchfields in Harwood, St Georges Park in Mossley, Byron Grove in Bamford and Park View in Northern Moor in addition to Chanters Green in Atherton. Arley Homes buyers can benefit from a range of deals including part exchange, assisted sale, stamp duty and five per cent deposit paid, subject to terms and conditions.
